Straight answers to the things people ask most before working with Lead Frog. Don't see yours? Ask us directly
Lead Frog builds the online systems that get small businesses more clients. That means three things: website design (built to convert visitors into enquiries), lead magnet funnels (a free resource + landing page + email sequence that captures and nurtures leads who aren't ready to book yet), and done-for-you lead generation (paid ads and traffic strategy to fill the funnel with your ideal clients).
You can hire us for one of these, two of them, or all three as a Growth Partner. We'll help you figure out which makes the most sense on your strategy call.
You can absolutely start with just one — most clients begin with a website, then add a funnel later once it's live. The funnel is built into your website as one system, so the website is always the foundation (we don't bolt funnels onto template-built sites from elsewhere).
The most common starting point: website + funnel together. These two work as a system — the website brings in traffic, the funnel captures the 80% who aren't ready to book immediately. If you're not sure, we'll tell you honestly what we think you need most on your strategy call.
Both capture leads — the right one depends on your traffic. A lead funnel (a free resource + landing page + email sequence) works best for warm traffic: referrals, organic visitors, and your existing audience. A VSL funnel is built around a sales video and is designed to convert cold traffic — strangers clicking a paid ad who need to be sold before they'll act.
Plenty of businesses run both: a VSL funnel as the front end for their ads, and a lead funnel for everyone else. If you're not sure which fits, our Which Funnel Is Right? page breaks it down, or we'll sort it out together on your strategy call.
We build all of our websites using custom HTML/CSS, giving you a fast, lightweight, and highly optimized website without the bloat of page builders or content management systems.
You can host your website on your own server if you already have hosting in place, or we can host and manage it for you on our dedicated servers for a small monthly fee.
Because every site is custom-built from the ground up, you get complete flexibility, excellent performance, and full ownership of your website.
We build all email sequences in Kit (formerly ConvertKit) because it's one of the best email marketing platforms for small service businesses and offers a generous free plan to get started. We'll set up your Kit account, build your email sequence and automation, and hand everything over fully configured.
Please note: some automation and sequence features may require a paid Kit plan depending on your needs and subscriber count. If you're already using Mailchimp or another email platform and would prefer to keep it, we can usually work with that too—just mention it on your call.
Yes — all of our services are delivered remotely, allowing us to work with businesses anywhere in the world. No matter where you're located, we can support you just as effectively as a local client.
It comes down to one thing: how warm your traffic is, not your budget.
Warm traffic — referrals, organic visitors, people who found you on Google or follow you — already half-trusts you. A page plus a free resource is enough to earn the opt-in. That's a lead funnel.
Cold traffic — strangers clicking a paid ad who've never heard of you — won't be convinced by a page alone. They have to be sold, which is what the sales video in a VSL funnel does. Our Which Funnel Is Right? page walks through it in two minutes, or we'll sort it out on a call.
Both funnels end in the same place — a booked call or quote request — but they can get there two ways, and the right one is again about traffic temperature.
Cold paid traffic → capture the email first. Only a small slice of strangers will book on the first visit. If you send them straight to a booking form you capture that few and lose everyone else — clicks you paid for. An opt-in keeps the rest and lets the follow-up sequence sell them over days.
Warm, high-intent traffic → send them straight to booking. Someone from a Google search or referral already wants it; an extra opt-in step just adds friction. The strongest setup often does both: opt-in as the main action, with a small "ready now? book →" link for the few who are. Capturing first doesn't replace the booking — it adds a nurture layer in front of it.
Yes — and plenty of clients do. The two are independent systems: the VSL funnel handles your cold paid-ad traffic, while the lead funnel catches everyone warm. You can have either, neither, or both.
Most businesses start with one and add the other as they grow — usually a lead funnel first, then a VSL funnel once they switch paid ads on. They're two rungs of one ladder, not an either-or.
It depends on the traffic you already have. If you've got a warm audience or existing website visitors, a lead funnel can produce opt-ins within days — at no ad cost. A VSL funnel needs ad spend to feed it, but it can scale cold traffic far beyond your existing network.
So it's "faster with what you already have" versus "bigger with an ad budget." Neither is better in the abstract — they solve different problems, and we'll be honest about which one fits your situation.
No — they do different jobs. A lead-magnet opt-in page trades a free resource for an email with almost no selling; it works because warm visitors already trust you a little. A VSL uses the video to do real persuasion — hook, problem, the mechanism behind your solution, proof, and the offer — because it has to convince a stranger who arrived completely cold.
That's why, even when a VSL captures an email, the video is selling your core offer and treating any free download as the first step — not just dangling a freebie. Same machinery underneath; a very different sales job on top. See VSL Funnels or Lead Funnels for each in detail.
Not to launch. The conversion features that matter are built right into your VSL page: a CTA that unlocks as the viewer watches, a live progress bar, and "continue watching" that resumes where a returning visitor left off. A paid host like vTurb or Wistia adds things a static page can't do on its own — split-testing the video, view analytics, and heatmaps — which are genuinely worth it once you're scaling ad spend and optimizing, but aren't needed to get a funnel live and converting. We'll flag when you've grown into one.
Our packages start at:
Optional managed hosting is $49/month and includes free minor updates.
Final pricing is agreed before any work starts and depends on the scope of your project. We don't have surprise add-ons or hidden fees. Everything is in writing before you commit to anything.
Because we're building a different thing. Those ads sell a website — a few pages that sit online. We build a system that brings you clients: a custom site wired into a lead funnel, follow-up emails, and automations that turn visitors into booked calls.
The cheap headline price also rarely stays cheap once hosting fees, "extra pages," and upsells get added. We give you one clear price and no lock-in. Here's the full, honest breakdown of why we're not $299 →
For project-based work (website, funnel), we take a 50% deposit before work begins and the remaining 50% on completion before final delivery. For monthly retainer services (lead generation), we invoice at the start of each billing period.
We accept credit card., PayPal, and e-transfer (Canada only). All invoices are in CAD and include applicable GST/HST.
Your deposit is fully refundable right up until you approve the initial design concept. We show you the homepage direction first — if it's not for you, you get your deposit back in full and we part ways as friends.
Once you approve that direction and we begin the full build, the deposit is earned and becomes non-refundable, since it covers work that's now underway. If you cancel after that point, you're responsible for the work completed to date and we'll hand over everything we've built so far.
For monthly retainer services, you can cancel anytime with 30 days' written notice. We don't lock you into long contracts.
Then you don't pay for it. We design your homepage first, before building anything else. If you don't love the direction, just tell us — we'll refund your deposit in full, no questions asked. You only move forward once you're genuinely happy with where it's headed. The risk is on us, not you.
You own everything outright, with no lock-in — and no mandatory ongoing fee to Lead Frog. The only required recurring costs are third-party: your Kit account (free up to 1,000 email subscribers), your domain name, and any ad spend if you're running paid traffic.
If you'd like us to keep things running for you, we offer optional month-to-month plans: managed hosting is $49/month (includes free minor updates), or ongoing management for funnel and lead-generation clients. Both are cancel-anytime, and we'll tell you exactly what to expect before we start.
Most builds are live within 5–7 days of your kickoff call — whether that's a website on its own or a full website + funnel. For Done-For-You Lead Generation (our Growth Partner package), the site and funnel launch on that same timeline, but the full rollout runs a little longer — typically 1–2 weeks — since it also involves setting up your ad campaigns and creating the ad creative.
These timelines assume you're responsive with feedback and content. Delays in providing content or approvals can extend timelines — we'll flag this if it becomes an issue.
We do the heavy lifting — you're not expected to be hands-on throughout. What we need from you: your kickoff call (30 min), any existing content or photos you want to use, feedback at 1–2 review points, and final approval before launch.
Most clients spend 2–3 hours total outside of calls. If you don't have photos or written content, we can discuss options on your kickoff call.
All projects include a 30-day post-launch support window — if anything needs tweaking or something isn't working as expected, we fix it at no extra cost.
After 30 days, you own the system fully and can manage it yourself. We'll train you on everything you need to know. If you want ongoing optimisation or monthly retainer support, that's available separately.
Yes — you'll have full access to your website once it's complete. Many basic updates can be made yourself if you're comfortable working with website files and have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
We'll provide any relevant login details and documentation at handover. If you're not comfortable making changes yourself, you're welcome to hire us for updates on an as-needed basis, engage us on an ongoing maintenance plan, or work with any web developer of your choice.
Our goal is to ensure you're never locked into working exclusively with us.
Most clients see their first opt-ins within days of their funnel launching — particularly if they have existing website traffic or a social media following to promote it to. A steady, consistent flow of leads typically builds over 4–8 weeks as traffic grows.
If you have no existing traffic and aren't running ads, leads will come more slowly at first. We'll set honest expectations based on your specific situation before we start.
Three, actually. 1) Love the design or your deposit back — see the concept before you're locked in. 2) Unlimited revisions until you're happy to launch — we don't call it done until you'd put your name on it. 3) A 30-day launch warranty — anything that breaks or doesn't work as promised in the first month gets fixed free. The one thing we won't promise is a specific number of leads or sales — that depends on your market, your offer, and how fast you follow up. But the build itself? We stand behind every pixel.
No — and we'll never promise specific numbers of leads or clients, because your results depend on factors outside our control: your industry, your location, your pricing, how quickly you follow up with enquiries, and market conditions in your area.
What we can guarantee is that everything we build will be designed to the highest conversion standard, will be tested before launch, and will be optimised based on real data. We stand behind our work.
Most DIY Facebook ads fail for the same reasons: the targeting is too broad, the creative is generic, the landing page doesn't convert, and there's no follow-up system. Running ads without a proper funnel is like turning on a tap over a bucket with no bottom.
We build the full system first — a converting landing page and email sequence — before spending a cent on ads. That way every click has somewhere to go and someone to follow up with them automatically. That's the difference.
For cold ad traffic specifically, that system is usually a VSL funnel — a sales video and single-path page built to convert people who've never heard of you.
Smaller, more specific markets often convert better than broad ones — because you're speaking directly to exactly the right person. A physiotherapist specialising in post-natal recovery, or a trainer who works exclusively with men over 50, typically sees higher opt-in rates than a generalist.
We'll discuss your market on your strategy call and help you position your lead magnet to attract the right people, not just anyone.
The kit includes three resources: The "What's Killing Your Leads?" Quiz — a 6-question diagnostic that identifies which specific problem is costing you the most clients. The 12-Point Website Audit Checklist — go through your site and score it yourself. And The Lead Magnet Swipe File — three complete funnel examples (PT, massage, physio) with landing page copy, lead magnet titles, and email sequence outlines you can adapt.
It's all free and you can grab it here.
Yes — when you opt in for the kit, you'll receive a short email sequence with the resources and some additional tips. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click. We don't spam, and we only email when we have something genuinely useful to say.
If it's not answered above, just ask. We're real people — not a chatbot — and we'll give you a straight answer.
